What is a Pacifier Activated Lullaby Device?

Researchers from Florida State University have devised a new pacifier to help speed up the process of learning how to feed in these little ones. When the infant sucks on the pacifier correctly, a lullaby is played, encouraging them by positive reinforcement to continue sucking. Studies have shown that infants increase their sucking rates by up to 2.5 times more than those infants who do not use the pacifier activated lullaby device. This has been shown to decrease an infant’s length of stay in the NICU by up to five days, which is music to new parents’ ears!
