Preparations Before Your pap Smear
Whether you’re planning to go for a regular Pap smear as a part of a routing health check or your first cervical screening, there are certain precautions that you should take when you have a Pap smear coming up. Avoid using any cream in your vagina (medicine or otherwise), vaginal douching (even with water), using tampons, and having sex in the 2 days before your Pap smear is scheduled. It goes without saying, but if you should not schedule your Pap smear in the days that you’re expecting to get your period as the blood cells will mask the cervical cells, making the Pap smear useless.
